Gillie is happy to be one of the keynote speakers at the DeCULT conference, Christchurch, New Zealand and is speaking on Sunday 20 October.
Following the conference, on 21 and 22 October in collaboration with the Olive Leaf Network, Gillie is delivering training to therapists and practitioners who are interested to learn more about helping and supporting those affected by coercive, cultic and spiritual abuse. This will also take place in Christchurch.

Dr Gillie Jenkinson is an award-winning psychotherapist and the director of Hope Valley Counselling in the UK. As a former member of an abusive cult, she specialises in working with survivors of trauma, thought-reform (brainwashing), and spiritual, emotional and sexual abuse in cults. Gillie is the mental health editor for The International Cultic Studies Association (ICSA) and a coordinator for EnCourage. Her book ‘Walking Free from the Trauma of Coercive, Cultic and Spiritual Abuse: A Workbook for Recovery and Growth‘ was published in 2023.
The world renowned expert on cult recovery therapy will be holding additional workshops for New Zealand’s mental health workers after the Decult conference.
