Telephone Counselling
Gillie staffed a rape and sexual abuse helpline from 1995-2007 and has trained others to do this work. She has had many years experience counselling clients on the telephone in her private practice. Gillie prefers to meet up before starting telephone counselling although acknowledges this is not always possible.
Gillie provides an 'Agreement for Telephone Counselling and Post-Cult CounsellingHVC' which is mutually agreed upon at the start of therapy. This sets out the expectations and boundaries for this work. If possible clients are also asked to fill out a monitoring form in order to evaluate whether therapy has been effective.
The fee for telephone counselling is the same as the fee for face-to-face and the client calls Gillie. Hope Valley Counselling is guided by the Telephone Helpline Association guidelines although is not currently a member.
