Experience
Gillie has been practising as a therapist since 1993. She has worked in a number of settings including Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Service (SRASACS)1996-2007, MIND 1999-2001, and CRUSE 2000 (with bereavement) and in private practice all that time.
All Gillie's therapy work is supervised by an experienced supervisor.
Gillie has extensive experience working with survivors of rape, sexual and spiritual abuse and cults.
Gillie is a trained supervisor (Diploma) and supervises a number of individuals who work with rape, sexual and spiritual abuse, dissociation and ex-cult members. She is listed as a supervisor with Safe Passage Foundation (a support organisation for those born and raised in cults) www.safepassagefoundation.org
Gillie is the school counsellor at Hope Valley College, Hope, Derbyshire.

Gillie facilitates an ex-member support and education group in London.
Gillie brings her experience of being a member of a cult in the 1970s, and later a member of a spiritually abusive house church, to inform her counselling work; together with her training, her internship at Wellspring Retreat and Rehabilitation centre and many years of experience doing this work.
Gillie is committed to working in a culturally sensitive way, acknowledging and learning from difference as well as similarity.
